The real charm with Left 4 Dead is playing online with friends, and a head set. And there is something humbling when you get owned buy a 13 year old game virtuoso. If you ever get around to getting an Xbox live subscription, check out my gamer tag "zengadad" and you will always be welcome to meet up with our group for a team battle.

Thanks for posting this morbid gift-giving suggestions. I've finally gotten my wife to the point where she'll shop from my creepy Amazon.com wishlist where my own birthday and Christmas gift guide finds a home.

Chris, I'm definitely going for an x-box because of left 4 dead. I've been reading World War Z (excellent), but I need a bigger stocking to fit in the Zombie Survival Guide. Thanks!

Thanks for the picks, I hope to find these books in my stocking!

and don't forget two great books by Max Brooks

I am a hardcore gamer myself, and even I found the Wii to have a bit of a learning curve. If you want more Wii Zanyness grab a copy of Mario Kart or Super Smash:Brawl

If you are looking for a good scare Keep your eye peeled for Silent Hill: origins. this was a PSP exclusive that I hear may be making it's way to the Nintendo platform.

Currently Resident Evil 4 Wii edition is the best infected game for that console.

if you have Hi-Def next gen consoles (Xbox 360, PS3) you have some more options with Dead space, Silent hill:homecoming (warning, horrible combat system) but great story line.

and quite possibly the best game I have played all year(online with friends) is Left 4 Dead. This is is such a pure Zombie/infected gaming experience. It blends the 28 days later "runners" with the Night of the living dead "shufflers" this game puts you at ground zero of a Zombie apocalypse and is the truest representation of this genre that I have ever played. Dead rising was a blast, but this , THIS IS THE GAME OF THE YEAR!

buy an Xbox 360, buy Left 4 Dead, kill some infected, be merry.
